Our Philosophy

 

Bethany Learning Center, a Christian preschool and Kindergarten, is a ministry of Bethany Community Church, which is located in Tempe. Consistent with the goal of the church, our desire is to prepare every generation to live for Christ.  We believe children should be given the opportunity to become aware of God so that they can respond to Him in faith and love.  Every aspect of our program is permeated with Christ’s love and teachings. 

 

Bethany Learning Center takes a “whole child” approach to early education by encouraging emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth.  As educators we are aware of the uniqueness of each child.  We appreciate that the learning styles and rate of growth are diverse for each individual.  To make educational experiences meaningful and relevant, we adapt instruction to the needs of every child.We maintain a high standard of excellence throughout the program.  We want the very best for the children, families, and staff of Bethany Learning Center.  Excellence in teaching is based on a developmental, hands-on approach that is appropriate to the child’s level.  In a comfortable, caring, and encouraging Christian atmosphere, children are furnished with an array of key learning experiences in which they may support, enhance, and extend their own capabilities and emerging skills.  Such experiences are created by using a variety of materials and challenging activities that allow each child to explore, experiment, discover, and practice those abilities and skills that have been defined by their own stage of growth and development.  Setting developmentally appropriate goals for children and meeting the needs of every child, regardless of their stage or rate of development are priorities for the Learning Center.

By understanding the development of children and respecting their own individual timing, Bethany Learning Center provides an environment in which every child is able to reach their optimum potential.
